Our Support Staff

Andrea, Technician

Andrea joined us in November 2010 and has been involved in the veterinary field for 15 years.
Outside of work Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, as well as having an interest in the field of nursing (Andrea is currently attending nursing school). She shares her home with her daughter and 3 feline companions, Jessie, Annabelle and Cora. 

Ashley, Technician

July of 2010 saw the addition of our newest pre-vet student, Ashley. She currently is a student at Gannon University (class of 2013), but has brought with her valuable previous experiences outside of the classroom from such places as Wintergreen Animal Hospital in Erie (where she shadowed) and Erie Zoo (where she volunteered). Within the veterinary field, she has interests in both emergency medicine, as well as exotics.
When not at work, Ashley enjoys playing volleyball, watching baseball and sewing. She enjoys spending time at home with her 2 kitties, Maxwell and Sarafina; Polish rabbit, Bunn; Bearded Dragon, Zach; and Sonic the rat. Ashley's new Pitbull puppy, Kyela, now resides with her and her sorority sisters at the Sigma Sigma Sigma house.

Beth, Technician

Beth has been another wonderful addition to our staff from the Vet Tech Institute. She graduated with her AAS from the VTI in 2011 and joined the staff of PEC in the Fall. Her area of interst within the field is Radiology.
When not caring for her patients at the clinic, Beth enjoys spending time outdoors, including kayaking, swimming, camp fires and going for walks.
Beth's 4-legged companions include her kitty, Miss Kitty and Golden Retriever, Pester.

Bobbie, Technician

Although Bobbie may be a new face to many (having rejoined PEC staff in 2010) in actuality, was a member of our staff back in 2006 before taking a 3-year break from emergency work. Bobbie is a graduate of the Great Lakes Institue of Technology. Her primary veterinary field interest is medicine.   
Bobbie's interests include music, sports, travel and food. She also enjoys spending time with her cat, Pippin and her dog, Pepper.

Caitie, Technician

Caitie has been involved in the veterinary field since 2004. She graduated form Lake Erie College with a degree in Equine Studies. Caitie joined the NWPaPEC staff in May, 2009. Her areas of interest include dentistry and equine medicine. Outside the vet clinic, Caitie enjoys horseback riding, Penn State football, blackjack, travel and snowmobiling. She resides with her 2 kitties, Mr. Orange and Mr. Gray and enjoys spending time with her horse, Disco.

Debbie, Technician

With an interest in pediatrics, internal medicine (specifically oncology) and emergency medicine, Debbie's been a valued member of the NWPaPEC team since March, 2008. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, as well as their 2 cats, Piper and Callie. Debbie also enjoys gardening and scrap-booking in her free time.

Denise, Technician, Vet Student

Denise is currently attending University of Illinois, as a student of veterinary medicine.

Gordon, Technician

Gordon brings vast knowledge and experience to the staff here at NWPaPEC. He has an AS in Nursing, as well as a BS in Biology. He has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years and has over 10 years' experience as a veterinary practice manager. Gordon's fields of interest include critical care, surgery, and anesthesia. Gordon also serves his community as a member of his local volunteer fire department as an EMT and firefighter, as well as a den leader for the Boy Scouts. Gordon enjoys spending his free time with his wife, 6 children and cat, Tigger.

Jenn, Technician (Certified)

After completing her Associates degree in veterinary technology, she joined the NWPaPEC staff in 2009. Jenn is a member of VSPN (Veterinary Support Personnel Network), and her areas of interest include emergency and critical care, as well as behavior medicine. 
Outside of work, Jenn enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, swimming, and hiking with her Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Beanie. She also shares her home with her cat, Mr. Man. 

Jeremy, Technician

We were very excited to welcome Jeremy to our ranks in the Fall of 2011. He comes to us with a vast background in companion animals-- both in medicine, as well as training. He is a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute, as well as National K-9 School for Dog Trainers, and is a member of the IACP. Through the past 5 years Jeremy has been involved in veterinary medicine, he has developed an interest in Emergency and Critial Care Medicine and, of course, canine behavior and training.
When not caring for patients at the hospital, Jeremy does in-home behavior consultations and training assistance for Erie-area dog owners; he also enjoys training his own canine companions, as well as  ATV riding, playing his X-Box and is a die-hard Steelers fan! Jeremy's homelife is shared with his wife and their black lab, Hank, Winston their Boston, a diamond back terrapin, Stewie, and feline companions: Chick-a-dee, Minsky, Phil and Lil, and Phoebe. 

Jessica, Receptionist

Jessica is a graduate of Edinboro University and Great Lakes College. She has been involved in the veterinary field since 2003 and joined the NWPaPEC staff in June, 2007. Wildlife rehabilitation is one of Jessica's fields of interest within veterinary medicine. Outside of the veterinary field, she enjoys jewelry making, art history, and ornithology (specifically raptors). Jessica and her husband share their home with Dweezle and Bella, their rescued Shiba Inus, B-Girl and G-Bunny, their rabbits and Gin, the Devon Rex.

Joann, Office Manager

Joann is currently attending Mercyhurst college, as she completes her accounting/management degree. She has been part of the NWPaPEC staff since July, 2007. She is a member of both the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Practice Association. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, scrap-booking, and spending time with her daughter; Papillon, Maggie; cats, Baby and Comet; Pete, their bearded dragon; and Millie and Tillie the guinea pigs.

Julie, Technician

Julie joined the ranks of the NWPaPEC staff in April of 2011 and comes to us with prior shaddowing experience at an Erie-area day practice. Her areas of interest includes companion animal medicine and behavioral medicine.
When not at work, Julie is a full-time student studying pre-vet. She also enjoys horse back riding. Her family shares their home with Louis their cat, as well as Bichon, Cody and Chihuahuas, Violet and Darla.

Kris, Technician, Receptionist

Kris has been a part of NWPaPEC team since its inception. She is a graduate of the Great Lakes Institute of Techology and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2000. Her preferred areas of interest within the field are radiology and ultrasound. However, outside the clinic, Kris enjoys traveling the world and spending time with her family. Kris spends her free-time with her Rottie/Husky mix, Madison and Scooter, her Poodle/Shih Tzu mix.

Lisa, Technician

Always looking to expand her knowledge base and experience, Lisa is currently attending San Juan College, working towards her Associates degree in veterinary technology. Lisa began her experience as a technician at a local day practice, then joined the NWPaPEC staff in February, 2008. Her areas of interest include cardiology, as well as critical care and emergency medicine; Lisa is a member of the Veterinary Support Personnel Network. During her off-hours, Lisa enjoys attending concerts, camping, and generally relaxing. Lisa shares her home with her 3 kitties, Missy, LiL Mister and Miko.

Megan, Technician, Vet Student

Shannon, Receptionist

We welcomed Shannon to the PEC staff in 2010 after a 4-year break from the veterinary scene. She comes to us with 6 years prior experience as a receptionist at Glenwood Pet Hospital. Her interests in the veterinary field include behavior medicine, as well as cardiology.
Shannon plans to continue working on her degree in Chemistry at Mercyhurst in Erie in the coming years. Outside of work and school, she enjoys reading, music, making jewelry, and is a hockey fan. She also enjoys spending time with her kitties, Samadhi, Alstott and Sway.

Sue, Technician (Certified)

Sue joined our ranks in September 2010. She comes to us with a very diverse background, inlcuding 25 years prior experience, including 17 years working with both domestic pets and farm animals. Sue has an Associates degree from Medical School of Allied Heath Careers. Her areas of interest in the veterinary field include the utilization of technicians and large animal medicine. Outside of work, Sue enjoys hunting, sports, camping, and spoiling her granddaughter. Sue and her husband share their home with their Beagle/Aussie mix, Nick; Shar Pei/Lab mix, Grady; Husky/Coonhound mix, Kiowa, their cat, Bearface and Puck the rabbit.

Teresa, Technician, Hospital Liaison

Teresa grew up in Central Illinois, starting out very early with an interest in Veterinary Medicine. She gained important experience in a variety of veterinary clinics prior to attending Illinois State University, earning a Bachelors degree in Agriculture/Animal Sciences. She joined an emergency facility during college and found it to be a preferred area of interest; she joined us here at NWPaPEC in early 2010 having 13 years prior emergency and 17 years prior day practice experience. Besides working, Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, their 2 birds, Kowhai and Kahurangi; 2 domestic shorthairs, Cajun and Boo-ska-do; American Wirehair cat, Doc; and Sphynx, Cheddar. She also enjoys showing, training and spending time with their 7 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Seti, Ekundu, Nyea, Shirley, Hailey, Beans, Aoife, and rescued German Shepherd, Flash.

Thelma, Technician

With a BS from Penn State in Animal BioScience and over 22 years' experience in the field of veterinary medicine, Thelma is an invaluable NWPaPEC team member. Thelma is a member of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technicians Association. Feline medicine and surgery tops Thelma's interests in the veterinary field. Outside the clinic, her interests include competing in agility trials with her dogs, bike riding, reading and spending time with her husband, son, daughter and pets: German Shepherd Dogs, Mongo and Kaylee; Cats, Lucky, Zoe, Scooby Doo, Munster; 4 cockatiels; parakeet; guinea pigs, Sunshine and Clover; and Hunter the chameleon.
